Our constitutional democracy appears to be fraying at the seams, with the very idea of free, fair, and binding elections under escalating threat. How do we continue to keep faith in the Constitution as a framework worthy of our investment? By understanding that struggle over power and meaning is at the heart of our constitutional tradition, and by seeing the continuity between our current challenges and what has gone before.
