About
The University of Denver's 10th Annual Crimson Classic 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk will take place on Friday, October 21, 2022 on Carnegie Green Lawn at 3pm. Music, stretching, and snacks will start at 2:15pm. The focus of the Crimson Classic is to celebrate wellness and to bring together our community. This is a free event! Please join us for wellness classes in the morning, some held in-person on Carnegie Lawn and one held virtually prior to the race. Please scroll down for the day's schedule. All participants who register will receive a 10th Annual Crimson Classic t-shirt. Let's kick off Homecoming weekend together. #DUCrimsonClassic

Routes & Time
Please see the Course Route Map. The afternoons in Denver can reach warm temperatures, please be sure to hydrate prior, during, and after the event. Water stations will be located at the Start/Finish line and along the course. Course Distance: 5K (3.1 Miles) = Two (2) laps around the course. The 1.5 Mile Walk = one (1) lap around the course.

9am – 10am       Yoga and Meditation on Carnegie Green Lawn - Free!

Please bring your yoga mat and join our very own Sarah Manzaneres for a practice in mindful movement with yoga on Carnegie Green Lawn. Start your day with a gentle Vinyasa flow class focusing on the connection of movement to breath and body awareness. Beginners and experienced yoga practitioners are welcome. We will end with a guided visualization meditation. This class is FREE and we will have a few extra yoga mats on hand. Register Here: Yoga Class Registration

10:00am – 11:00am       Zumba on Carnegie Green Lawn, Free!

Please join us for Zumba on Carnegie Green Lawn with Katia Miller! This Latin dance class fuses hypnotic rhythms and easy-to-follow choreography to create an exciting dance cardio class. With combinations of international dance steps, Zumba will allow you to torch calories while having fun! This class is FREE. Register Here: Zumba Registration. 11:00am – 12:00pm       Hindsight 2020 - A Look Back at Financial Lessons Learned from 2020, Free TIAA Webinar

Reflecting on challenging circumstances can provide us with lessons on how to approach the future. Join TIAA's Gregg Marsh, Director of Integrated Solutions, for a presentation that looks back at the historical example of 2020 and what we learned in terms of the value of advice, following a disciplined risk management strategy and the role lifetime income can play in a sound financial plan. Regional Employees
Regional employees and eligible spouses are encouraged to participate in the Crimson Classic 5K Run and Walk by engaging in any physical activity of their choice on that day, and in doing so - you may receive this year’s commemorative Crimson Classic T-shirt, please email well@du.edu with your size (Small – XXXL in unisex sizes) and your mailing address.

 

Bag Check
There will be a bag check for your items at the race. Please note, DU is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please do not leave valuables.

 

Registration and Result Posting Instructions
Register for the race by clicking "Sign Up". It is free for all participants. During registration, you will be asked to sign a waiver. If you are joining the race day-of there will be paper waivers for you to sign at the registration table. Race Results will be posted on Carnegie Green Lawn following the race.

 

Event Exclusions
Please be aware of your surroundings while racing. Strollers are allowed, but please ensure to start in the back after all other runners and walkers. Pets are not allowed on course. Service animals are allowed. Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
