You might be used to saying “I’m a student”—but what happens when that identity no longer applies? In today’s workforce, your job title isn’t enough to describe who you are. Employers, mentors, and collaborators want to understand what drives you, what you care about, and how you see yourself making an impact. This is especially important if you call yourself a jack-of-all-trades or have multiple passions that don't fit neatly into one box.

In this talk, DU alum and TEDx speaker Dr. Sarabeth Berk Bickerton will guide students through a new way to think about who they are becoming in their careers. Drawing on her groundbreaking research in hybrid professional identity, Sarabeth shares tools and real stories to help students move beyond generic labels and begin expressing their unique value—even before graduation.
