Join us for a discussion that examines the strategic, operational, and geopolitical dynamics shaping competition between the United States and China at sea.

Drawing on extensive naval command experience in the Western Pacific, Captain Rob Watts offers a practitioner’s perspective on maritime security, crisis management, and great power rivalry. The talk will explore how naval interactions influence broader U.S.-China relations and what is at stake for regional and global stability.

The event will be moderated by Dr. Suisheng Zhao, Professor and Director of the Center for China-US Cooperation at the Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs.
