Inspire Integrity: Chase An Authentic Life

Corey Ciocchetti - Professor; Bill Daniels Chair of Business Ethics; Director, Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program

Track: Undergraduate Students, Graduate Students, Staff, Faculty, Community Members

Corey’s most popular keynote on ethics encourages audiences to chase the truly important things in life such as a solid character, strong personal relationships and a sense of contentment. These “real rabbits” are compared and contrasted to more fleeting worldly success such as excessive wealth, popularity, and prestige. Audience members leave with a better sense of what it takes to develop integrity, set priorities, gain a big-picture perspective, and chase an authentic life. By the end, Corey promises that this will be one of the most powerful and motivational speeches you have ever heard.

The Voices that I Sing: Exploring Our Sources of Inspiration

Sarah Pessin – Director of Spiritual Life & Professor of Philosophy and Jewish Thought

Track: Staff

We are each a complex melody whose notes, rhythms, and harmonies reflect favorite elements of our favorite people--a trait we value about grandma, admiration for a generous friend, and even vibing on our favorite movie hero. Join us in reflecting on the people who've most moved, amazed, and inspired us-- from friends and family, to teachers and mentors, to authors and favorite fictional characters. We'll do exercises and have conversations, build "inspiration trees," and learn more about ourselves and others. [No actual singing!]

The Nuances of Mentorship: Identifying the Duality of Identities

Berkeley Rebman – Undergraduate Student

Track: Undergraduate Students, Graduate Students

In this session, attendees will learn more about the nuances of being a mentee and mentor from the student perspective. Current senior Berkeley Rebman will share her experiences with the DU community of how she sees herself both as a mentee and mentor, yet continues to explore character and grow in both roles. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in an activity that asks questions of both mentors and mentees. All are welcome!

My Life Map: Managing the College-to-Career Transition

Cindy Funk - Director, Career Integration | Heather Martin - Teaching Professor, University Writing Program

Track: Undergraduate Students, Graduate Students, Staff, Faculty, Community Members

Life after college is full of exciting possibilities. But it can also feel overwhelming. Whether you’re stepping into a new job, exploring your purpose, or simply figuring out what comes next, graduation represents a unique “fresh start moment.” This workshop will help you build confidence and clarity as you navigate the transition from college to career.

Through a hands-on life-mapping activity, participants will chart the peaks, valleys, and transitions they’ve experienced in their life, creating a visual timeline of their personal and professional journey. By identifying major themes, challenges, and strategies, the life-map process will bring your story into clearer focus and help you navigate the future with greater clarity and confidence.
