Join this fun, interactive and creative session to learn how the principles of improv can support you in building the habits of mind that help you cultivate confidence, spontaneity, and deep listening, along with trust (of self and others) to navigate with ease those uncertain and ambiguous situations, be it in interviews, while networking, or launching into an internship, or new or current job.

This workshop will be facilitated by DU's very own improv team, "Skintight Outrage." They're an incredible team of humans who deeply grasp what it means to take risks, fail fast, and roll with uncertainty as a way to create audience experiences that generate laugher, lightheartedness, and fun. They will teach you how to optimize happenstance moments and have conviction in your decisions by experimenting with improv techniques. The lessons learned in this workshop will serve you beyond your professional development, and even support you in your life in general.

Some of the skills you'll practice include:

  • Learning to Think on Your Feet
  • Deep Listening + Keen Observation
  • Trusting the Moment-yourself and others
  • Taking Risks with Confidence; Being Bold
  • Believing in Your Ideas & Visions
  • Embracing Failure and Trusting the Iterative Process
  • Being Present and in the Moment
  • Developing Comfort with Uncertainty
