Supervisor Skills Refresher: Managing International Student Employees

International students at DU make up a minority of the student body, but they are overrepresented among student employees. On-campus employment is often their most accessible path to professional development, and they can bring new perspectives and skills to your team. In this session, Theresa Johnson, ISSS director, will share best practices with supervisors about how best to hire, manage, and develop international student employees to benefit everyone involved.

As always, we will have a little content and then a lot of time for discussion and connection. This event is tailored to supervisors of student employees but open to all. You are welcome to join in person in Burwell 320 or to join by Zoom, and we will put special care into making this a meaningful hybrid experience.

Our accessibility plan includes enabling captioning for both in-person and virtual attendees, providing dicussion questions out loud and in writing, and sending out all materials afterward by email to registrants.
