This workshop will break down the fundamentals of NIL in a clear, practical way so you can confidently navigate opportunities and avoid common pitfalls. We’ll cover the essentials of compliance and what the rules actually mean in real life, how to understand contracts (including deliverables, usage rights, and exclusivity), and the financial basics every athlete should know—such as taxes, 1099 income, budgeting, and common write-offs.

You’ll also learn how NIL deals are typically structured, from cash and product partnerships to commission and equity arrangements. We’ll highlight common red flags and scams to watch for, discuss when it may make sense to work with an agent or representative, and share a simple framework for evaluating whether a deal is truly worth your time.

For non-athletes interested in supporting the NIL ecosystem, we’ll also explore how to structure a business that provides NIL services—including pricing, contracts, and liability considerations.
