Startups often lack the time and money to conduct primary research, which involves gathering new information. That’s where secondary research becomes invaluable—it uses existing data, making it cost-effective and beneficial for startups in several ways:

Validating business ideas and assessing market demand.
Gaining insights into customer needs and preferences.
Identifying the most effective marketing channels, pricing strategies, and distribution methods.

This presentation is designed to provide an overview of the secondary research resources available at DU and how they can support your business ideas. It’s ideal for students exploring product development, market strategies, pitching ideas, or taking courses like BUS1440: The Fourth Industrial Revolution and EVM 1100: Introduction to Entrepreneurship.

While both the presentation and workshop cover similar content, the presentation focuses on providing a broad understanding of these tools and their applications. The workshop, on the other hand, offers a hands-on experience with practical exercises to apply these tools directly to your business ideas. There’s no need to attend both—choose the format that best aligns with your learning preferences and goals.
