Join the Newman Center for the Performing Arts and Entrepreneurship@DU for a conversation with Don Was, president of Blue Note Records and six-time GRAMMY-award winning bandleader of the Pan-Detroit Ensemble. In its 86-year history, Blue Note Records has established itself as one of the most prolific and influential American jazz labels. Spanning the analog records of the 1940s to modern-day music streaming and even live jazz clubs, the Blue Note brand has proven its ability to stand the test of time over and over again.

Don Was will be joined onstage by Aisha Ahmad-Post, Executive Director of the Newman Center and John Sebasta, Koch Endowed Chair of Entrepreneurship at the Daniels College of Business. Join us to learn about how Was has created a successful and dynamic career in the music industry and the future of the industry in the digital era.
