Week 5
Wild Not Crazy, Thursday May 1st, 11:00am-1:30pm, Community Commons Exterior: The Collegiate Recovery Program and Health Promotion are coming together to offer this event focused on the stigmatizing language that is often used around Substance Use Disorders and other mental health topics. Attendees will be able to learn about this topic and walk away with their own potted wildflower seeds, allowing their knowledge and plant friends to bloom! Week 6
Mindfulness for Midterms, Tuesday May 6th, 11am-1:30pm, CCOM 1700 & 1600: Join us to engage in mindfulness activities and create your own pressed flower jar! Jars, pressed flowers, and mod podge will be provided at no cost to all students who participate in a mindfulness activity.
Care Fair, Wednesday May 2nd, 11:00am-2:00pm, Community Commons Grand Forum: Campus and Community Partners from across Devnver will be coming together in this resource fair to show students what they can do to support their mental health! All attendees will be entered to win one of several incredible prizes!
Week 7
Mirrorless Monday, Monday May 12th, 11:00am-1:30pm, Community Commons Exterior: Stop by our table and take a moment to reflect on the way you view your body and feel comfortable in your own skin. In honor of everyone who struggles with body image, we will be challenging folks to skip the mirror this day and instead focus on the positive aspects of their embodied experience. Participants will be able to contribute to a display that will stand for the remainder of the month.
Suicide Prevention Training, Wednesday, May 14th, 5:00-6:00pm, CCOM 2600: Come and get trained on how to identify the signs of and respond to someone thinking of ending their life. Attendance at this event fulfills the RSO Harm Reduction requirement for student organizations.
Mental Health First Aid, Wednesday May 14th, location and time will be disclosed after registration to keep confidentiality: We will be holding an open Mental Health First Aid training free for all DU community members. Learn how to identify and respond to early, worsening, and crisis mental health challenges and become certified as a Mental Health First Aider. Week 8
Do Drugs Help, Thursday May 22nd, 11:00am-2:00pm, CCOM Exterior, Join us to learn more about how drugs affect your wellbeing. Participants can engage in mythbusting around using drugs to support your health and win prizes!
Week 9
Better in Bed, Tuesday May 28th, 11:00am-2:00pm, Community Commons Exterior: Health Promotion will be tabling to educate students on the connection between their sleep health and sexual health and what they can do to improve both! Participants that spin our trivia wheel and answer a question related to sleep and/or sexual health will be able to choose from a selection of excellent giveaways!
