The Shared Socioeconomic Pathways are narratives created by climate change researchers that have been operationalized in long-term models, like IFs, to forecast future patterns of socioeconomic development through 2100. These scenarios have become the core of the analysis produced by groups like the IPCC regarding climate change. One aspect of this Lunch and Learn will be introducing people to new research Pardee is publishing that operationalizes new versions of these scenarios for the climate community forecasting development to 2150. In addition, we will introduce people to a new initiative that Pardee is part of, called the Scenario Evolution Process (SEP). The SEP process (hosted on DU's website at sep.du.edu) is a research community-led process to develop a new framework that moves beyond the SSPs, starting with a survey and building through a series of workshops and academic publications.
