2026 School Board Symposium

Each year, the Colorado School Board Symposium brings together PK–12 leaders and community advocates for critical conversations on the issues shaping Colorado’s schools. Hosted by the University of Denver’s Educational Leadership & Policy Studies Department, this year’s symposium centers on leadership, governance, and the courage to make decisions that advance equity, opportunity, and excellence for all students.

Across five powerful sessions, we’ll unpack the most pressing issues facing Colorado school boards with research that cuts through noise and gives you clear direction.

Topics Include:
Federal Policy in Focus: Leading Locally Amid National Shifts
Federal funding cuts, staffing reductions, and potential changes to the U.S. Department of Education are reshaping the landscape. This session explores how Colorado PK–12 leaders are making sense of these shifts and navigating uncertainty at the local level.

The Teaching Profession at a Crossroads: Leadership Strategies for Retention and Renewal
