As part of the Harm Reduction Summit, Thrive Health Promotion will be holding an open session of its Suicide Prevention Training. Attendees will learn how to identify the signs of suicidal ideation and intervene to save a life. This training will prepare participants to ask the question, provide practical and emotional support, and connect someone to the resources they need. The PLAN’R model that will be presented centers care for the individual, and similarly, this training is structured to address the topic of suicide in a compassionate way that is accessible for all attendees, regardless of experience or identity.
4:30 PM – 6:00 PM
*This is an open workshop for Registered Student Organizations to help fulfill their RSO Harm Reduction requirement as a part of DU's "Harm Reduction Summit."*
This workshop will use a fictional relationship as it develops between two people who meet online to explore topics such as: relationship red/green flags, conflict resolution, consent, and interpersonal violence (including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking). Students will also learn about campus and community resources that support those who may have experienced these types of harm.
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Disability is the next frontier of representation. But are we centering disabled folx at the margins of other identities? 🐝
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
In this workshop, participants will explore the critical role that men play in building consent culture on campus. Through reflection and discussion we will examine how traditional masculinity can influence attitudes and behaviors around consent, and develop strategies to support a culture of respect and accountability.
