The Thriving with AI Faculty Learning Community is a cohort of faculty members who will meet once a month over the 2026-2027 academic year to learn from and with each other as they explore topics related to AI in higher education. While the exact topics of inquiry will be shaped by the cohort, general areas of exploration will include AI literacy, addressing issues related to the ethics/risks of AI, creative/innovative use cases for AI in teaching and learning, and more.

Each meeting will be 90 minutes long, and will take place once a month starting in late September and going through May. We will have two concurrent learning communites running:

  • Group 1 will meet Tuesdays from 10:00-11:30. Meetings will be September 22, October 20, November 17, January 19, February 23, March 16, April 20, and May 18.
  • Group 2 will meet Thursdays from 10:00-11:30. Meetings will be September 24, October 22, November 19, January 21, February 25, March 18, April 22, and May 20.

Participants in either of these groups/communities are expected to attend every meeting. In addition, each participant will work toward an AI-related teaching and learning project to be incorporated into a 2027-2028 course (you can find examples of past projects on the Thriving with AI Digication page).

Please note: Based on the high number of applicants so far, we anticipate reaching capacity for the 2026-2027 academic year. However, it is possible some additional slots will open up, so if you are interested, please do still apply using this the Qualtrics form.

Virginia Pitts is the facilitator of this learning community; please reach out to her (Virginia.Pitts@du.edu) with any questions.
