The Canvas Academy is an on-campus, multi-day institute designed to help faculty deepen their understanding of course design in Canvas and apply that knowledge to begin to redesign one of their own courses. Grounded in principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and accessibility, the academy emphasizes inclusive, student-centered course design that promotes clarity, flexibility, and engagement.

The Canvas Academy supports faculty in creating high-quality course designs through data-driven insights, hands-on Canvas training, and personalized guidance. Utilizing a custom-built analytics dashboard, facilitators will conduct individualized course reviews and provide tailored recommendations to each participant.

Before the academy begins, participants will select a previously taught Canvas course and complete a self-assessment. This course will serve as the foundation of their work during the academy, where they will make thoughtful progress toward a redesign.

Please reach out to facilitators Terri Johnson (terri.johnson@du.edu) or Lexi Schlosser (lexi.schlosser@du.edu) with any questions.
