Phi Delta Theta is a prominent international fraternity founded in 1848 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. It was established by six undergraduate students who sought to create a brotherhood based on strong moral values and lifelong friendship. The organization has grown significantly over the years, with chapters across North America and a legacy of leadership, scholarship, and service. Phi Delta Theta emphasizes personal development and community engagement, encouraging its members to strive for excellence in all aspects of life, both during and after their college years.
At the heart of Phi Delta Theta are its three cardinal principles: Friendship, Sound Learning, and Rectitude. These principles guide the fraternity’s mission and the behavior of its members. Friendship fosters a supportive and respectful brotherhood; Sound Learning promotes academic achievement and intellectual growth; and Rectitude emphasizes integrity and moral character. Together, these values shape a culture of accountability and purpose, helping members become responsible leaders and contributing citizens. Phi Delta Theta is not just a social organization, it’s a lifelong commitment to living with honor and making a positive impact.
