We welcome new Lamont faculty cellist Yi Qun Xu in this faculty recital with pianist Stephanie Cheng. They will perform works by Gabriel Fauré, Joan Tower, and Francis Poulenc.

Praised by The Day for her “great poise and masterful technique” and “an amazingly rich tone,” cellist Yi Qun Xu has distinguished herself as both a soloist and chamber musician, performing extensively throughout the United States. Celebrated Taiwanese-American pianist Stephanie Shih-yu Cheng brings her "fearless" and "eloquent" artistry to stages across the globe, from Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall and the Dame Myra Hess Series in Chicago to Tokyo's Opera City Hall, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the National Concert Hall in Taipei.
