Role of the Judicial Branch

To evaluate cases and inquiries based on the governing documents of the Undergraduate Student Government and Registered Student Organizations' (RSO) Bylaw(s).

To serve as an official body appointed to adjudicate cases and inquiries from eligible individuals. Cases and inquiries include any individuals' complaints against action in violation with governing documents, ensuring the integrity of the USG and all constituents they serve.

Potential Cases Include:

  • Member removal for violation of RSO by-laws
  • Officer election controversy
  • Additional funding appeal

Court Jurisdiction

The Judicial Branch is the final authority on the governing documents of USG, election controversies, parliamentary inquiries, and internal RSO matters pursuant to the RSO's Constitution and Bylaws.

The Judicial Branch has the power to issue a recommendation on the removal of USG and RSO members that must be approved by 2/3 vote of the Senate

The Court does not accept cases regarding compliancy & licensing with RSO regulations, RSO P-Card misusage, or violations of Equal Opportunity & Title IX (EOIX) and Student Rights & Responsibilities (SRR) policy.

Court Case Inquiry Form

The Court will respond within 72 hours of receiving the filing to alert the parties of their decision to accept or deny the case.
