Discoveries Leader Applications Re-Opened
Discoveries Leader applications have re-opened! Due to the recent news that study abroad has been cancelled for the fall, Discoveries Orientation has decided to re-open applications for the Discoveries Leader position. The deadline is Sunday, May 3rd at 11:59pm.
This Thursday (04/30) at 11am The Office of Student Engagement is hosting a workshop, called Transferable Skills, as part of the Discovering Leadership Track. Students do not need to bring any sort of resume/cover letter, but may if they wish. We will be examining our past experiences with leadership and getting a new view of how to navigate the way we talk about our experiences in resumes and interviews.
This workshop is free and open to all current DU students, but geared toward students who currently identify as leaders. Students who actively participate in the OSE Leadership Workshop Series this Spring Quarter will be recognized for their participation in the Fall Quarter. This series is divided into two separate and unique tracks Discovering Leadership and Developing Leadership, make sure that you check back on CrimsonConnect often to register and attend future events.
We asked what you're doing to have some fun while physically distant from your DU friends. We know at least a few of you have created epic blanket forts! We want you to share them with us by giving us a video tour and submitting via the link below.
Please join me for a teletownhall with higher education students from across Colorado on Friday, May 1st at 12:00 p.m. MT. I’d like to hear from you about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on you as a student. I’m also interested in your thoughts about how we can build a more resilient future for our country, and I will happily answer any questions you have.

Our Remote Work Tip of the Week during Week 1 was to establish a start-of-day ritual. Now that we're halfway through the quarter, it's a good time for a reminder to mark the end of the day for yourself as well.
Ending your working day is crucial. No sneaky trips back to the office to ‘just finish that’. When you day is finished, your day is finished.
You need time to relax and re-cooperate otherwise you will burn out and lose impetus for the next day and the day after. Anything you think off that you needed to do, write it down and do it first thing tomorrow.
