As a part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, join us as we learn more about the history and significance of Denim Day (happening on Wednesday, April 24th) and prepare to participate in this year’s observance by decorating denim!
Denim patches and decorating supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring your own denim pieces if you would like!

Dr. Christopher Bell is a speaker, scholar, and consultant focused on bridging the divide between academic study and the production of entertainment media. specializing in the study of the ways in which race, class, and gender intersect in different forms of children's media. His innovative Creative Inclusion strategy for story development and world-building is at the center of his consultation approach. Recognized nationally for his expertise in the area of children's culture, he has taught and published in the areas of critical analysis of popular culture, rhetorical theory, representation theory, and the history of mass media. Dr. Bell is a TED speaker and a David Letterman Award-winning media scholar.
A Bachelor's degree in Social Studies and Creative Writing. A Master's degree in Screenwriting. A Ph.D. in Media Studies. All Dr. Bell has ever wanted to do is think about, write about, talk about, and tell stories.
Dr. Bell recently served as the Director of Creative Inclusion at Skydance Animation Studios. Prior to moving into this role, he served for eleven years as an Associate Professor of Media Studies in the Department of Communication at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.

Since 2009, LEP has partnered with other DU departments as well as community resources to host "Choose Your Own ADDventure" for learning differences (LD)/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) families and professionals. It's a FREE, half-day conference that explores and increases the understanding of the many nuances of ADHD and LD.

Do you or does someone you know what to be more engaged in the DU Community? Support the DU Community and its members? Participate in incident or conflict resolution? Nominate yourself, a colleague, or a student for the Student Accountability Board (SAB)! SAB resolves our most elevated Student Rights & Responsibilities cases and, therefore, the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities (SRR) engages DU community members as the decision-makers in these cases. SAB brings together students, staff, and faculty members to uphold University policies. SRR is looking for a diverse and deep pool of trained SAB members in order to fully represent our campus community.

SJE has also begun its hiring process for Social Justice Peer Educators (SJPE) for 2024-2025! Exciting paid opportunity for both undergrad and grad students to become trained facilitators in social justice education. ~10 per week, $18.50 per hour.
Veterans Memorial Park to Rocky Mountain Childrens Hospital
On April 6th, the Student Veterans Association, along with the Veterans and Military Resources office, hosted the First Annual Veterans and Military Ball at DU. The event featured a special guest speakers, Board of Trustee Member Gen. George Casey (RET), and Provost Mary Clark and attracted over 120 attendees. Held in the Community Commons, the Veterans Ball was an exceptional evening celebrating and honoring our veterans and military community. Additionally, we announced the newly founded co-ed fraternity for student veterans, Omega Delta Sigma (ODS), has launched this year, for more information please contact veterans@du.edu.
