CrimsonConnect RSO Officer Newsletter
Put this on your calendar!

IMPORTANT DATES:

Saturday, May 31st: (that's this Saturday)
RSO Re-Registration priority deadline

The sooner you submit your materials the easier time we'll have if we need to request any edits. Additionally, upon approval of Re-Registration materials the system will update to reflect newly appointed officers as listed in the Re-Registration materials, so the NEW officers will be the ones receiving these updates and newsletters.

Thank you to those who have already submitted! Remember to keep an eye on your CrimsonConnect "chats" for requests for edits.

Friday, July 11th:
RSO Re-Registration final deadline.

RSO Re-Registration materials submitted after this date will still be accepted and reviewed, however, RSOs who submit after July 11th will NOT receive a base-allocation of funding for the 2025-26 academic year. Supplemental funding will be made available after the start of Fall Quarter for approved RSOs who completed the Harm Reduction requirement (or have shown effort to complete it in the new year at the time of the request).

Sunday, September 7th:
Save the date for Org 101 which will be hosted IN PERSON this fall in the afternoon ahead of the Involvment Fair! More details will be shared as we move into the summer. Please share this date with your RSOs officers who will be here in the fall.

TRANSITION PLANNING & RESOURCES

Download this linked Transition Guide TEMPLATE

Facilitate a smooth transfer of knowledge from outgoing leaders to their successors. Ensuring you have enough time for effective transitions in Spring Quarter can be very helpful.

The transition guide template, linked above, is a fillable word-doc that will help you document important information, processes, and contacts so that incoming leaders have a reference for re-creating annual events or progressing on projects that have been started but not completed.

Re-Registration FAQs:

What Do I Need for RSO Re-Registration

The annual RSO Re-Registration window is OPEN alongside the Room Lottery application for recurring weekly meeting spaces in the Driscoll & Community Commons for 2025-26.

You'll need the following to complete the RSO Re-Registration:
RSO Constitution: Now is a great time to review your RSO Constitution to be sure it accurately reflects the way your RSO conducts business. There are several sections of USG Sample Constitution that are "recommended" or "required". Now may be a perfect time to build those into your documents.

Here's how you can find your RSO's most recent Constitution Document:
  • Log into CrimsonConnect
  • Navigate to your group's page
  • Find the "Files" section
  • Click on "Uploaded Attachments"
  • If there's a folder within that fold (likely called "Other") click that
  • You should see an archive of past Constitutions that have been uploaded, including the one that was uploaded during Re-Registration last year

Active Membership Roster: You'll be asked to upload a membership roster of those members who will still be active in your organization in 2024-25. You MUST upload this using the provided excel .xls template

Advisor Agreement: A new RSO/Advisor agreement form is required. Now is a great time to check in with your RSO Advisor about their interest in continuing as your RSO advisor next year, or to determine if a different faculty or staff person on campus may be a better fit for the needs of the organization. Consider how your Advisor can support your team in the process of transitioning to new officers.

How do I know if my group needs to re-register:

If you pull up your group page in CrimsonConnect and arrive at the "officer dashboard" you will see a big blue banner at the top of the page with information, important hyperlinks, and the button that will take you to the re-registration. It looks ilke this:

Otherwise, you can open the full group list (from the top of the CrimsonConnect Homepage - use the Groups Icon and click the blue +All Groups button) and you can search for your organization.

The status of your re-registration will be listed next to your group, looking something like this, with the blue "+Group Re-Registration" button there to start the process:

I'm trying to list our new officers for next year but it won't let me type in a name:

Make sure you delete out the name of the person currently listed in the text-box where you can search for the person you want to list. Once there's no name in the box the system will let you search.

*NOTE: some users in CrimsonConnect have their privacy settings such that they are NOT searchable in the CrimsonConnect directory. If the person you're looking for isn't populating you may need to reach out to them to have them temporarily adjust their settings.

I already started the Re-Registration form but now I can't figure out how to pick up where I left off:

  • Log into CrimsonConnect
  • Navigate to "My Surveys & Forms" at the bottom of the left-hand menu bar on the homepage
  • Find the draft of the "RSO Re-Registration 2024-2025" form and click on the "edit" icon
  • Pick up where you left off and finish submitting.
  • There’s a good chance you’ll need to scroll down after you read the important information at the top of the page to see the additional questions we need answered.

I am getting an error message when I try to complete the Re-Registration:

First try either opening CrimsonConnect in an "Incognito" window and doing the re-regisration there, or clearing out your browser's cache/cookies.

If that does not fix the issue, please send an email to usgorgs@du.edu and cc: StudentEngagement@du.edu with the following documents and information:
  • PLEASE ATTACH:
    • A copy of your most up to date constitution/bylaws
    • Your .xls formatted membership roster
    • Your signed 2025-26 Advisor Agreement form
  • In the body of the email please answer the following:
    • Does your organization plan to attend a conference/retreat before November 15, 2025 - if yes, please hyperlink the registration/information website and indicate the number of undergrads you hope to bring
    • Does your organization have recurring/annual contract or subscription service costs - if yes, please provide the details of the contracting service and cost amount
