Graduate Student Appreciation Week

DU Graduate Students! We appreciate all that you bring to our campus. Join us for a week of exciting events as we celebrate and honor you, our dynamic and valued graduate student community!

Graduate Student Appreciation Week (GSAW) is an annual celebration where universities nationwide recognize the invaluable contributions of graduate students to campus life. This year, the University of Denver will honor our graduate student community from March 31 - April 6. We have something for everyone; social, professional, and academic events throughout the week! Some events require registration ahead of time and be sure to note which ones. At each of the events this week we will have appreciation giveaways. Don’t miss out on the celebration!

Followup Re: Fizz Survey

We are writing to share the results from the Fizz Survey that we sent to you in an email communication on January 8, 2025. As a reminder, the survey had three parts: (1) learning across difference; (2) on campus experience; and (3) a primary focus of questions on the Fizz virtual environment based on multiple reports that DU students were being targeted on that platform. We shared in the January 8th communication, and it is essential to reiterate that there is no tolerance at the University for bullying, discrimination and/or harassment whether occurring in person or through written or electronic means. Students found responsible for these behaviors could be subject to outcomes that may include suspension or expulsion. More Info

Veteran Connnections Event

On February 21, Employer Connections, Career and Professional Development, the Right Foot Forward, Volunteer Networks, and the DU Student Veterans Association collaborated for the first-of-its-kind Veterans Career Networking event. Twenty-six student veterans, veteran alums, and nine veteran-supporting employers gathered in Burwell 340. In a speed dating-style event, employers rotated from table to table to speak with student veterans about their experiences and provide job-seeking tips. The evening was filled with engagement and enthusiasm from all who attended. The Veterans Career Networking event, which took place from 4:30 to 6:00 PM, was a huge success. Special thanks to Stacey Stevens and the Employer Connections Team, Patty Hickman in Career and Professional Development, Mackenzie Hunter in Volunteer Networks, and Student Veteran Association leadership Sean Brennick and Caleb Smith!
