Stroll N' Tell - Multicultural Greek Council

Harm Reduction Summit

The Harm Reduction Summit begins on Monday, Oct. 13th! This is the easiest way for your RSO to complete its Harm Reduction Requirement. If RSOs get 25% of their members to attend one of the workshops or events listed below, and your organization will complete the Harm Reduction Requirement and be eligible to receive $50 towards your next event! For questions, email hcc.thrive@du.edu!

This is a DULAA event where 11 alumni from different industries will be in attendance to have 1:1 conversations with students--- all students are welcome.

In this workshop, you'll learn how to analyze job descriptions and highlight the skills you've built through resumes and cover letters to make you stand out. Free Deturgent initative

 

I am excited to share a completely free and sustainable resource now available to undergraduate students—including our incredible first-generation community! 

This initiative has recently received funding and backing from DU's USG, of which Nicole Benton is cc'd here.

🧺 What You Get: 5 detergent sheets = 5 loads of laundry 
🌱 Why It’s Awesome: The sheets are hypoallergenic, biodegradable, and eco-friendly—no plastic, no harsh chemicals, no cost. 

This pilot program is part of Generation Conscious, an initiative focused on creating climate-friendly, inclusive solutions that directly support students. It’s especially designed to reduce the hidden costs of campus life—like laundry—while helping the planet. 

Whether you're commuting, living on campus, or finding your own way, we know every bit of support matters. We want to make sure you know this machine is for undergraduate students—anytime they need it. 

✨ Fellowship Opportunity for First-Gen & Low-Income Students 

In addition to free resources, Generation Conscious also offers a Fellowship Program designed specifically for first-generation and minority students interested in climate justice and economic empowerment. 

The Workforce Development Program offers: 

  • Paid professional experience in sustainable systems and circular economy work 

  • A chance to join a revolutionary climate solution project 

  • Support for students who may feel pressure to choose traditional career paths over their true interests 

  • A community of peers building post-fossil fuel career pathways

Join the Student Accountability Board (SAB) 
 

The SAB is made up of Faculty, Staff, and Student representatives who resolve elevated cases where Students may have violated Community Standards or University Policies. SAB members determine whether or not the Student is responsible for violating these standards or policies and, if they are found responsible, the Status and Educational Outcomes that will be assigned. SAB members can assign any Status Outcome: Warning, Probation, Elevated Probation, Suspension, or Expulsion. Training will be provided. Please consider joining this important board.  
 
To refer yourself, a colleague, or a Student, please complete the SAB Nomination form. The next SAB training is scheduled for Friday, October 24, from 1-3 p.m. Please send any questions to SRR@du.edu or call 303-871-5724. SCHOLARSHIPS

DU’s Office of Scholar Development & Fellowship Advising can help you with your application!

 

Make an advising appointment with a Fellowships Advisor at du.edu/fellowships and email any questions to fellowships@du.edu.

Fullbright U.S Student Program 


Applications are now open for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, which supports a year abroad in over 140 countries in four major categories: 

  • Study/Degree program (i.e. earn a Master's at certain schools abroad) 

  • Research 

  • Creative or Performing Arts 

  • English Teaching Assistantships 

Apply as a graduating senior, recent graduate, or as a graduate student. To get DU's endorsement, you must work with SDFA. Schedule 1:1 advising here and check out our resource guide for writing a Fulbright application. The campus deadline is September 2 for grants that start as early as Fall 2026. 

Gilman Scholarship 

The Gilman-McCain Scholarship provides awards of $5,000 for child and spousal dependents of active or activated United States military personnel during the time of application (including Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, Coast Guard, Coast Guard Reserve, Marine Corps, Marine Corps Reserve, Navy, Navy Reserve, Space Force, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and USPHS Commissioned Corps) to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs. Applicants must be recipients of any type of Title IV federal financial aid during the time of application or provide proof that they will be receiving Title IV federal financial aid during their study abroad program or internship. Contact your OIE advisor for more info.

Even though it feels far away, NOW is the time to start working on fellowship applications that support experiences that begin in Fall 2026. See below for open competitions, and remember: SDFA is here to help over Zoom and in person. Our calendars fill as deadlines approach, so don't wait to ask for help.

Campus Shuttle Access For Students

The University of Denver offers a campus shuttle that runs 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday along a set route, along with an on-demand shuttle service between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.. To get access, download and use the TripShot app. The app provides:

  • A convenient way to traverse campus and the surrounding area. Easily access nearby shopping, Pearl Street and hubs around campus.
  • Booking an on-demand service that will take you to additional stops both on campus and off-campus.
  • An ETA of the shuttle at your pick-up stop, as well as your destination.

It's never been easier to explore the University of Denver and surrounding area! Keep watching the newsletter for an unveiling of the new look for DU's shuttle and the University's social media channels for a special feature on the drivers who get you where you need to go.

For Students with Work-Study Funding 


Did you know that students with work-study funding have special access to many positions on campus not open to other students? See this link for more information about work study. 

To look for Work-study jobs, go to MyDU / My4D  > at the top, Search "PCO" and select "Pioneer Careers Online (PCO)". On this site, select the Job Board from the left to view jobs. You may use the filter settings to only show Work-Study positions or only non-work-study jobs as well. 

Note: Due to the FAFSA delays this year, some students' work-study information in PCO is still updating.

Did you know student employees have access to paid leave time? Well now you do! See Student Employments' blog, linked here, for details on the two types of leave that student employees are eligible for.
