It was great to see so many of you at the Involvement Fair and to see so many kick-off meetings last week and this week!
We hope you have a great 2024-25 year with your RSO, and please remember our team in Student Engagement (studentengagement@du.edu) and the SAIE Business Office (studentcomptroller@du.edu) are here to support you throughout the year.
This email is FULL of information to help you kick off the year. Before you continue, we'd like to know when you're free for Officer Gatherings and Org 201 Workshops.
One of the first things we want to know is when you are free for Officer Gatherings and Org 201 workshops and what you'd like to learn more about.

Successful Involvement Fair - Now What?
What to do with email addresses you collected at Involvement Fair
If you collected email addresses at the Involvement Fair you can easily add these students as members to your organizaiton's roster on CrimsonConnect. This will allow you to send emails out to everyone without having to create a listserv on a different system.
Please note that CrimsonConnect can only identify a student's account with their @du.edu email address - so if someone provided a non-DU email address, it will create a secondary, guest profile for them in the system - we definitely don't want that.
This step-by-step shows how to add new members to your group roster. You will notice there are also options to paste a list of email addresses (so the system can search for users to add).
Don't forget to put your events on CrimsonConnect
Many of you have already put your events into CrimsonConnect! Thank you for doing this. It's a great way for students to see everything that's going on and coming up, so please keep it up!!
Some helpful notes:
You can have your upcoming events advertised in the Pulse by adding the "Pulse Advertising" tag when you create the event and/or by clicking that you'd like it advertised at the end of the event submission form. Both options alert the Student Engagement team to include your event in the upcoming events list for the week
If your event is open to Graduate Students as well, please use the "Grad Newsletter Advertising" tag when you create your event
If you're hosting an event in a space that is NOT reservable in 25-Live, where the form asks for the 25-Live reservation code, please just use that space to provide information about the location you've booked (for example: Event booked in the Ritchie Center - not reservable in 25-Live). That will allow you to continue through the form.
If you have any questions about planning events with your RSO, don't hesitate to reach out. The Student Engagement team is here to help your events be as successful as possible, and we can help walk you through how to reserve space on 25-Live, how to request tables/chairs/trash cans/etc, and how to go through the event submission form in CrimsonConnect.
Important P-Card Reminders
P-Card Checkout Reminders
Please remember that requests to check out a P-Card MUST be made AT LEAST 3 BUSINESS DAYS ahead of the day you plan to spend. This allows the CCOM Welcome Desk and Business Office to review the request and connect with you for clarification if needed prior to check-out. Requests made with fewer days notice may be rejected.
Business days are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
P-Card Receipt Submissions
Please remember that P-Card receipts are due within 2 Business days of purchase. Receipts should show all of the items purchased, and purchases should be tax exempt.
If your group has extenuating circumstances that require an extension to the 2-business day policy, please reach out to studentcomptroller@du.edu
Other Resources Available
Org 101 Recordings
Thanks to everyone who was able to attend Org 101 Training live last week. For those who weren't or if you know one of your fellow officers wasn't able to make it, the recorded breakout sessions are now posted on CrimsonConnect.
This year's training featured 3 "Breakout Rooms", and all recordings will remain posted year-round so you can always refer back to them:
Required for Event Planners, Recommended for Presidents, VPs & Other Officers
The full training slide deck is also available on the Org 101 web page.
RSO Handbook
The RSO Handbook is an extension of the things we cover in Org 101 Training and goes into significant detail. It also covers some of the things we don't get a chance to review in Org 101 Training.
We encourage you to bookmark the handbook and review it when questions arise.
As always, the Student Engagement team is here to support your RSO so feel free to reach out if you're not sure about something.
Upcoming Open Harm Reduction Workshops:
New year means we've re-set all RSOs for this year's Harm Reduction Workshop requirement. Between now and the Re-Registration deadline for next academic year, each RSO should have 25% of their members and officers attend a Harm Reduction Workshop.
Here's a list of open workshops coming up, that everyone is welcome to attend:
Just a note, especially for those of you who are officers of multiple organizations, when you have different group pages pulled up in CrimsonConnect on separate windows or tabs, the system will try to get all of your tabs to just ONE of your group pages.
This may result in emails sending to a different group than you intended, or events being built for a group that isn't the host.
Please be aware of what tabs you may have open when working on a project for a specific org.
