Campus and Community Announcements

A Message From Christopher

As we wrap up what always feels like the longest month of the year (it literally feels 70 years long), we can finally see the light at the end of the winter tunnel. January, with its post-holiday slump and chilly mornings, seems to stretch on endlessly, making each week feel like a month of its own. The excitement of a new year quickly meets the reality of early mornings, packed schedules, and the slow crawl toward warmer days. But despite its length, January also gives us the perfect chance to set the tone for the rest of the year, lay the groundwork for our goals, and reconnect with our chapters after the break.

Now, as we move into February, there’s an undeniable sense of momentum. We’ve shaken off the sluggish start and are hitting our stride—whether that’s through continued recruitment efforts, philanthropy events, or just finding a balance between academics and social life. Each passing day brings us closer to spring, and with it, a renewed energy that comes from longer days, warmer weather, and the excitement of upcoming campus traditions. This is the perfect time to refocus on our commitments, check in with each other, and make sure we’re not just enduring the quarter, but embracing it.

Before we know it, the signs of spring will be everywhere—flowers blooming, outdoor gatherings, and the buzz of campus coming alive in new ways. So, as we push through these final winter weeks, let’s lean into the camaraderie that makes our FSL community so strong. Whether it’s supporting a sibling, getting involved in a new initiative, or simply looking forward to the next big event, the best days of the quarter are just ahead. Hang in there—spring is on its way!

National College Health Assessment

Starting February 10, the Health & Counseling Center will conduct the biennial National College Health Assessment (NCHA) from the American College Health Association (ACHA). Students will receive personalized links to complete the survey, which will remain open for three weeks.

The survey takes approximately 20–30 minutes to complete and provides essential data on health and well-being topics. This information helps identify trends in health behaviors and perceptions. This information enables teams at DU to better tailor programs to meet student needs.

We encourage you to promote this survey to students you work with. Participants will be entered into a prize drawing, which includes:

  • Two $300 airline vouchers
  • Eight $25 Safeway gift cards
  • Eight $25 Target gift cards

Thank you for supporting this initiative! If you have any questions, please contact Jessie McGinty at jessie.mcginty@du.edu.

A Message From Madison

Happy week 5! As we approach halfway through the quarter remember how capable you are of pushing through tough times. You have made it through 100% of your bad days thus far. Feel free to book a meeting with me to chat through any ideas you may have for your chapter, leadership development, or if you need to vent about it being week 5!

Remember I am also available to come chat at any of your chapter meetings and happy to work with you on that! Let me know.

Proud of you always,
Madz

Girl Scout Cookies

Hi! My name is Eloise, and I am selling Girl Scout Cookies to help support my troop!

Last year, we were able to get our horse badge from the money we made from cookie sales and this year we're hoping to sell even more. Usually, the cookies sell for $6/box ($7 for specialty cookies), but since my mom works at DU, we're offering a "buy 5, get one free" deal for all bulk orders ($30 for 6 boxes)!

If you want more information or are interested in placing a bulk order, please email my mom: shira.good@du.edu. Thank you for your support!

Remember to follow DU FSL on Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok!

A Message From Julia

Hi, my name is Julia Herberg and I am the new Risk Management Intern through the DU Grad School of Social Work. My position in the office is to continue our goals with FORGE and be a resource for mitigating all potential harm to our members. I am a 3+2 student, so I'm also a Senior at DU for psychology and computer science and I am an alumna member of Gamma Phi Beta. I'm hyped to work with our community to continue growing and enhancing FSL!

2025-2026 Denver Area Panhellenic Scholarship is open!

I encourage you to forward this email among your local chapters members, collegiate or alumnae pursuing a degree that fit the requirements of eligibility in the school year of 2025-2026!
