The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is requesting proposals up to $5,000 from University of Denver students, staff, and faculty representing departments, offices, units, and campus organizations to support programming and/or learning opportunities to explore antiracism. As we enter spring quarter, ODEI looks forward to proposals addressing anti-Asian oppression and violence, anti-Immigration sentiment, anti-Semitism, violence against Native American women, and commemorating Juneteenth. We have extended the deadline for proposals to Friday, May 28, 2021, and proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
'Give Kindness, Take Kindness' : A Semblance of Normalcy
The 'Give Kindness, Take Kindness' wall was initiated by Maggie Tisher, Zainab Alikhan, Shujan Sharafeldeen and Adewe Stovall as a PLP project. The purpose of this wall is to bring back 'random acts of kindness' in the midst of the pandemic. It will give DU students the opportunity to 'take what they need' and 'give what they can' in the form of quotes/motivational words on Post-it notes. The wall is located on the Driscoll Bridge for all students to participate in. We will also be including HCC resources on the wall. We hope to reduce the stigma around reaching out for help while simultaneously humanizing the counselors/staff available.
