WINTER 2024 Week 1
In Case You Missed It
Labyrinth with people navigating it

Check out the Labyrinth in the CCOM Gallery

Welcome back to campus! As you get back into your life as a student, we encourage you to find moments for mindfulness, reflection and re-centering.

The Community Commons Art Gallery (across from Starbucks) will play home to a Reflection Labyrinth for most of the month of January. Remove your shoes, and take time to wind along the path to the center of the labyrinth while you ponder or reflect on anything on your mind.

Labyrinths are an ancient practice used by many different cultures world-wide as a way to quiet the mind, calm anxieties, recover balance in life, enhance creativity, and encourage meditation, insight, self-reflection and stress reduction.
It is not a maze; rather it contains only one path to the center and back out. There is no set time for how long it takes to move from the outside to the center, and no set ritual for how to move on the path. The essential advice is to enter slowly, calming and clearing your mind, opening your senses and focusing on the process of taking a slow and deliberate pace while bringing to mind something to contemplate during your movement to the center of the labyrinth. Upon reaching the center, pausing to reflect, pray, listen for an answer or profound revelation before beginning the return journey. Upon exiting, absorb the experience with continued reflection, prayer, or journaling.

College Skate Nights - Photo of students ice skating

Downtown Denver Partnership College Skate Nights

Each Winter the Downtown Denver Partnerships build an Ice-Skating Rink in Downtown Denver at the corner of 16th Street and Arapahoe.

This year we are doing a College Skate night every Tuesday night in January. Anyone who shows a student or faculty ID’s will receive 50% off skate rentals, if they already have ice skates, they can hop on the ice free of charge! I have attached some marketing assets and would love if you could share with your marketing team to promote this to faculty and students.
