tinyurl.com/LODStartWithWhy

As part of the Office of Student Engagement's online webinar style events, we're offering an on-demand style event for you all to tackle on your own time.

Many of us know WHAT we do but have never stopped to reflect on WHY. It is this simple question that often times can make or break a leader because without a strong answer, how can they hope to inspire a shared vision or lead a team effectively? This workshop is dedicated to helping you discover what your “why” is in the context of leadership, and helps you leverage your answer across all walks of your life! Join us on this exciting journey!

All resources available at : https://tinyurl.com/LODStartWithWhy
You will be asked to sign into your DU account, and will be able to download the resources.

Please complete this form once you have completed the activities!

Remote Work Tip of the Week:

LEAVE HOME

To the extent that it's allowed and safe where you are during the COVID-19 outbreak, get out of the house, provided you can maintain social distancing of course.Take an out of house/building break at least once a day. Your body needs to move. Plus, the fresh air and natural light will do you good.

You don't have to go to crowded public spaces to get away from your virtual workspace (and you probably shouldn't right now, either). Take a walk. Weed the garden. You get the picture.

RSO Annaul Re-Registration - DEADLINE FRIDAY:

RSO Re-Registration for the 2020-2021 year is OFFICIALLY OPEN! Re-Registration will remain open until the end of Week 8 (that's this Friday, May 22).

Here is a snapshot of what to expect and what you'll need if you will be the person responsible for re-registering your RSO (all currently listed RSO Officers also received this information):

1) Re-Registration will take place on CrimsonConnect
Use your first.last@du.edu email address and password to log in.

2) Once you're logged in, navigate to the RSO you would like to Re-Register (either by using the "Group Search menu in the top left or by finding it under "My Groups" part-way down the CrimsonConnect home page).

You'll know if your Org still needs to Re-Register because when you log into CrimsonConnect and navigate to your organization, you will see a blue "Re-Register Your Group" button. Clicking on that will take you to the Re-Registration form.

3) ANY member of your organization can Re-Register your Org
If next year's leadership has been elected, they should be the ones to re-register, if they have not yet been elected, now may be a good time to hold elections.
If your elections will not happen until after the re-registration window, current leadership may re-register your group, and will be responsible for updating the officer list when leadership transitions.

4) Gather your materials ahead of time.
You will need the following in order to re-register, so gather your materials before you begin the form (all of these documents can be found here (halfway down the page), or can be obtained with their direct hyperlinks below):

  • Up to date Organization Constitution (sample constitution can be found here).
  • Up to date Membership Roster (here is the roster template optimized for uploads into CrimsonConnect).
  • Undergraduate Students serving as President, Vice President & Treasurer (ideally these will be next year's exec leaders rather than any executive leaders who will be graduating in June).
  • + 7 additional undergraduate student members
  • Faculty/Staff Advisor - you will provide their @du.edu email address within the form, as well as a signed RSO-Advisor Agreement form.

5) You Can Still Be an operating 2019-2020 Org while we Review & Approve.
The USG Student Organization Committee and the Office of Student Engagement will review all Re-Registration applications and approve them as swiftly as possible once the re-registration window has opened. Your organization will still be able to continue meeting, planing, etc throughout the process, while you await approval for next year's registration.

6) Org 101 Training
Finally, all Presidents and Treasurers will be required to attend a (virtual) Org 101 Training which will contain modules related to managing your organization, registering events, applying for USG funding, and more. Be on the lookout for this training as we get closer to Fall 2020. Participation in the Fall Org Fair may be contingent upon completion of this training.

If you have any additional questions about this process please contact Jessie Stellini, Associate Director of Student Engagement.
