Join the Fun at the Gratitude Potato Golf Cart Parade & Celebration!
Get ready for one of the most uplifting events of the fall quarter! On Thursday, November 6, come to Campus Green for the Gratitude Potato Golf Cart Parade (1:00–2:30 PM) and Celebration (2:30–4:00 PM). Enjoy free tater tots, regular fries, crinkle fries, waffle fries, curly fries, sweet potato fries, and potato snacks, plus tons of potato-themed games and crafts, from sack races and hot potato to decorating your own spud! Departments and offices are decorating their golf carts and joining the parade for a chance to win the best-decorated potato-themed cart prize.
Join the golf cart parade, bring your bike, skateboard, scooter, or walk alongside the potato truck parade as it makes its stops across campus and goes back to Campus Green for a big celebration. Let’s celebrate gratitude, community, and creativity, potato style!
Are you looking to make a meaningful impact and gain hands-on experience? The Center for Community Engagement (CCESL) offers an internship program where undergraduate students collaborate with community partners for credit! You’ll take on real-world challenges through a special project that you co-design with your community partner at your internship site. Register for 1–2 credits per quarter in winter and spring. The class (CENG 3980-2) meets Mondays from 4:00 to 4:50 pm, with additional hours arranged with your community partner. Students may be eligible to receive up to $1,200 per quarter in compensation and up to $500 to support their special project or cover travel expenses. PinS Student Signature Work Grants
Have a research or creative project idea but need funding? PinS Student Signature Work Grants support undergraduates pursuing research or creative projects that spark innovation, deepen understanding, and address real-world challenges. Grants provide $3,800 student stipends and up to $1,500 in project costs for faculty-mentored projects. Applications will be reviewed two more times this year, with the next deadline being February 2. Learn more here

Ritchie School of Engineering & Computer Science
Are you curious about artificial intelligence (AI) and want to learn how it works? Register for the “Understanding AI” course offered by the Ritchie School of Engineering & Computer Science. The course is open to all non-CS undergraduate & graduate students & students minoring in Computer Science. This course provides a comprehensive intro to the diverse approaches to creating AI. It exposes non-CS students to an accessible technical understanding of what’s going on “under the hood”. It covers knowledge representation, search, Natural Language Processing, among other topics, as well as ethical considerations.
