Are you looking to serve in a leadership role while supporting and celebrating the first-generation student community at DU? The FIRST@DU team is excited to establish the new FIRST@DU Steering Committee. Committee members, to include DU faculty, staff, students, and alum, will be asked to:
Attend quarterly convenings during the academic year.
Serve as a liaison with their respective departments, communities, and/or divisions to include sharing information with and from stakeholders
Contribute time, resources, and/or expertise to committee-informed projects or initiatives. If you are interested in serving as a student representative, please fill out the inquiry form below.
Four students (one rising sophomore, one rising junior, one rising senior, and one graduate student) will be chosen. This is a great opportunity to enhance the first-gen university experience and foster students’ academic success. If you have questions about the steering committee’s goals or individual commitment, please reach out to me at angela.vandijk@du.edu. And, if you’re ready to fill out an interest form, please do so here.
