Writing Prompts
At most of our meetings, we spend an hour writing to prompts. On this page, we have some prompts we've used and a form where you can submit new ones!
We usually spend about 15 minutes per prompt at club meetings.
Prose, poetry—anything's welcome!
Share your work with your peers or just listen to theirs! Come inspire and be inspired.
Having a limit can inspire creative ways to deal with it! We often work with restrictive prompts, such as not using a given letter.
Other prompts may be inspiring in giving a starting point!
We're excited to see what you come up with!
Some examples of prompts we've used in club!
Write about a made-up holiday in a form you don't normally write in (e.g. prose if you normally do poetry).
Write something based on a peculiar idiom, like "even a worm will turn".
Imagine something in a room you haven't been inside.
What does the tooth fairy want with your teeth?
