New Student Orientation, or as we call it here at the University of Denver, Discoveries Orientation, is our introduction to the DU experience. Our in-person Discoveries Orientation programming begins on your Move In Day, Friday, January 3, and programming is ongoing until the start of classes on Monday, January 6. During this time, you can expect to learn how to be successful inside and outside of the classroom at DU, navigate campus, learn about valuable resources, and support services while getting to know your peers!
All new students are required to attend. Be sure to Register for Discoveries Orientation by December 18! Parents, families, and support systems are welcome.

- 8:30am-11:30am: Residence Hall Move In (Residence Halls)
- 11:30am-1:00pm: Lunch
- 1:00pm-5:00pm: Discoveries Orientation - Day 1
- Dinner
- Discoveries After Dark (evening social programming)
Saturday, January 4
- Discoveries Orientation - Day 2
- 11:00am-12:30pm: Mandatory Intervene Training (Community Commons, Room 1700)

Intervene: DU Active Bystander Workshop for New Student Orientation
As part of the Undergraduate Student Government 2017 resolution, all new and incoming students are required to attend an active bystander skills workshop before February 4th, 2025. This session covers strategies for appropriate interventions in cases of potential sexual assaults, hazing, mental health, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence, and alcohol and other drug-related emergencies. If you do not register for and complete Intervene: DU by February 4th, 2024, a hold will be placed on your account and will prohibit registration for Spring quarter.
