April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month
SAAM (Sexual Assault Awareness Month) is a national campaign observed every April to raise awareness about consent and sexual assault. Historically, Health Promotion at DU has worked with campus and community partners to host awareness and education events across campus. Given our new landscape, we are working to maintain connection throughout SAAM. Follow us on Instagram: @ThriveAtDU and check back for more information and ways you can participate virtually with us!  #DUSAAM2020#SAAM#ThrivingAtDYou#April#IAsk

The Office of Student Engagement is pleased to host the virtual workshop, “Leading with Mindfulness,” on Thursday, April 9th at 1-2:15pm on Zoom as part of a pilot Leadership Workshop Series this Spring Quarter. As part of the Developing Leadership Track, this workshop is free and open to all DU students, but geared toward students who currently identify as leaders. During these difficult times, it is important for students to re-center and re-focus themselves as individuals in order to best lead and serve others. This workshop will address current events locally and globally – encouraging students to acknowledge rather than ignore them – and invite students to reflect on life pre- and post-COVID-19 pandemic.
Join us for sports trivia through ZOOM and Kahoot on Friday, April 14th at 4:00PM MST. Registration is free and can be found on imleagues.com/DU. Registration is required to reserve a spot and also receive the ZOOM room information. The winner will receive an IM Champ Shirt!
Remote Work Tip of the Week: Make a Plan & Organize your Thoughts
Spend some time getting familiar with your course syllabi while you have a calendar out. Block yourself some time to focus on the various assignments, discussion board posts, readings, and of course recorded/virtual lectures. Try prioritizing in a way that works for you. Maybe you'll give each day of the week a "theme" and zero-in on one specific course each day. Or maybe each day will be dedicated to a different "type" of assignment. Or you could try making sure each day has a good mix of assignment types and course subjects. You may even try mind-mapping as a way to organize what makes the most sense. Either way, plan out your quarter so you don't miss anything, and don't forget to schedule in some breaks and fun along the way!
