May 7-8 | Community Commons
Join us throughout this two-day symposium for opportunities to learn more about your well-being, character, purpose, and intellect to use at DU, in your future career, and beyond. Come explore ideas and research, be in community, and engage in conversations that help you think about your purpose and direction in the world. Highlights include:
Poetry Hands On by former Colorado Poet Laureate Joe Hutchison
Future of Work lunch plenary panel moderated by Provost Loboa and featuring leaders in the public and private sectors (lunch generously sponsored by TIAA)
Purposeful Work in an Automated World dialogue by Mark Nussbaum
Cultivating an Authentic Professional Identity workshop by Austin Gane
4D Coffeehouse, a World Cafe-style event engaging the big question: “What if purpose were the purpose of higher education?” (refreshments generously sponsored by the LearningWell Coalition)
Story Education With an Edge: 4D Zine Library Pop-Up by Krystoff Kissoon
Mosaic storytelling event: "Unscripted" with Health Promotion
As the year wraps up and finals start piling on, it’s easy for stress to sneak up on you. May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Thrive Health Promotion has a full lineup of events to help you slow down, reset, and look out for your well‑being. Whether you want to plant something green at Wild, Not Crazy, get a sweet treat at Therapy Is Cool, or just take a breather with friends, these activities are all about giving you space to relax and recharge—while picking up real strategies to support your mental health during finals and beyond. If you’re someone who likes helping others, there are also trainings throughout the month where you can build peer‑support skills and make a positive impact on campus.
Check out the full calendar and visit the Mental Health Awareness Month page on Crimson Connect to see what’s happening and jump in!
