Learn a Less Commonly Taught Language!

Center for World Languages & Cultures, Sturm Hall Room 391H

Is there a language you’d like to learn that DU doesn’t offer for credit? The Center for World Languages & Cultures (CWLC) offers many non-credit courses in less commonly taught languages. Classes planned for Winter 2024 include: ASL, Hindi, Farsi, Dari, Korean, Amharic, modern Greek, Swedish, Burmese, and Swahili. Don’t see your language on our list? Let us know! If we can find you a language partner, we can create a course just for you. Email cwlc@du.edu for more information.

Equal Opportunity & Title IX Policy and Process Overview (Student Employment Training)
November 1st 4:30-5:30 PM | Zoom
The Office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX is responsible for facilitating compliance with applicable federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws. As a student employee, you are responsible for reports to the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX pursuant to the University's Discrimination and Harassment Policy. Please join our campus partners at EOIX for an in-depth presentation on how to receive and make reports to EOIX and to learn what happens when a report is made to EO-Title IX. This training will take place on Wednesday, November 1st, from 4:30-5:30 PM MT on Zoom. This training is open to all student employees! We strongly recommend this be counted as paid professional development, so please ask your supervisors. For more information, contact stuemp@du.edu.

Led by Dr Bernadette Luciano from the University of Auckland and the Anna-Maglione-Sie Scholar in Residence, this lecture on Gender-Based violence (GBV) discusses the cultural and linguistic features that account for the challenges in recognizing and eradicating GBV in Italy and the role that the arts, and in particular cinema and documentary play in providing a less sensationalized and more nuanced examination of the issue. The lecture is free and open to the public.
