4D Symposium
May 18 9:30 am - 5:30 pm | Community Commons
The 2023 4D Symposium held on May 18 from 9:30 am - 5:30 pm in the Community Commons is designed to bring together campus stakeholders - faculty, administrators, staff, and students - to learn more about the 4-Dimensional (4D) Experience and share progress and models around elevating this work. Throughout the day, the 4D team as well as a variety of faculty, staff, and student speakers will be presenting sessions on how they see 4D integrating with their experience at DU, as well as the ways they envision the future of 4D taking shape. We hope this event will inspire our community to support holistic learning and development experiences for our students through integrating the four dimensions of advancing intellectual growth, exploring character, promoting well-being, and pursuing careers and lives of purpose.
DU EMS partners with Vitalant to offer a blood drive on campus. To schedule an appointment call 303.363.2300 or visit donors.vitalant.org & use drive code 1086. Walk-ins welcome.
All are invited to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of the DU community at the Crimson & Gold Awards Celebration. This will be a dessert reception with no formal presentations/program.
There is no set dress code or attire, so feel free to dress as casual or dressy as you would like.
Join DUPB for a Farmer's Market, featuring multiple local vendors, fresh produce, and free food trucks for students. Better Weather and Non-Dairy student bands will take the stage at 3 pm for No Battle Just Bands.
The Clarion is the official student newspaper of the University of Denver, serving as the community’s voice. Read some of the highlights from our publication this week:
It's not too late to register for Summer Session courses! Summer at DU means adventure. Biking, hiking, kayaking, four National Parks and more are right at your doorstep when you study at DU this summer, plus the chance to access special, only-in-summer courses and opportunities.
The DU Safe app is now available to help ensure your safety on campus. Did you know, you can get severe weather alerts from Campus Safety right to your phone with DU Safe? Pretty handy on weeks like this when Colorado weather doesn't want to play nice. You can also get tips on how to stay safe during a severe weather emergency in the Emergency Plans section. For example, if you happen to be in your car when faced with an oncoming tornado, do not wait out the storm in your car. Instead, attempt to outrun the tornado by driving perpendicular to its path. The DU Safe app is an excellent tool for keeping yourself safe on campus and gives access to so many safety features that are meant to aid you and the DU Community. We encourage you to download and share it with your friends. Simply visit your app store, search for “DU Safe” and add the app to your device. Then, use your standard DU credentials (the same you would use to authenticate into your email address or MyDU) and begin using the many safety features offered within DU Safe. Campus safety is right at your fingertips!

Interested in a research study on mood and behavior? Planning to start using CBD? The Research on Affective Disorders and Development Lab is conducting research on the effects of CBD on mood and behavior. We are recruiting young adults ages 18 to 35. One group that we recruit will include people who are experiencing depression. The other group will consist of people who have never had any diagnosed mental disorder.
The study includes a few different parts:
• You will answer short twice-daily surveys for 6 weeks on your mobile device.
• You will complete three in-person research visits, each including an interview about life experiences, a set of computer games, a blood draw, and a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain scan.
• You will select and use a CBD product for up to 6 weeks
The study takes place over the course of 6 weeks and you will be compensated for your participation (maximum of $863-$1,038 for completing all parts of the study).
