About Us

The objects of this Chapter shall be to afford an opportunity for students of a chemical science to become better acquainted, to secure the intellectual stimulation that arises from professional association, to obtain experience in preparing and presenting technical material before chemical audiences, to foster a professional spirit among the members, to instill a professional pride in the chemical sciences, and to foster an awareness of the responsibilities and challenges of the modern chemist. Participation in PioChem has the final objectives of fostering an environment where students sharing a passion for chemistry can come together and learn how to communicate and share their passion to others especially to non-chemistry majors and young scientists. This extends beyond our campus to off-campus locations such as local elementary schools, public libraries, and high schools. Professional work ethic principles, team communication, proper safety principles, chemistry explanations, scientific literacy, and scientific excellence are also heavily stressed throughout our club.
