Awkward Yeti Brain and Heart Cartoon

Visits from the USG Student Orgs Committee

Hello!

Some of you may have noticed but members of USG’s Student Organizations Committee are coming around to RSO’s and just chatting!
We are not doing anything formally but swinging by, so you guys know who is advocating for your needs in USG. Feel free to ask our committee anything to do with CrimsonConnect, managing constitution updates, and starting new clubs!

Interested in showcasing your RSO at an upcoming USG Senate meeting? Let us know!

Best,
Feruz
(USG Interim Student Organizations Committee Chair, First Gen Senator)

A group of students and administrators engage in conversation at a DU event

University Administrators want to Attend RSO Events

The Chancellor and his team (Vice Chancellors, Asst./Assoc. Vice Chancellors) from around campus are interested in connecting with student organizations this year to listen, learn, and celebrate what’s happening across DU!

We've added an option in the RSO Event creation form to indicate if the event you're planning is one where Administrator Attendence is encouraged, so we can share those events with interested administrators.

Additionally, if you’d like them to stop by a meeting or event, you can send details (name, 2–3 date/time options, location, attendance, and goals) to tyler.miller@du.edu.

Tabling Reservations

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Hoping to reserve a table to advertise an upcoming event or initiative?

Once you get to the Momentus Space Booking Page, you'll now find the table reservation options under the EXPRESS CLASSROOM BOOKING section.

Reminder - Register your Events on CrimsonConnect & Use Event Tags:

It is an expectation that RSO Events are input on CrimsonConnect and that the event information provided is as thorough as possible. This helps our team ensure that necessary resources are looped in if needed and we're able to support your planning. This website has information about expected planning timelines and so much more!

TIP: Don't forget to add tags to your events! Consider what themes your event may tie to that are connected with one of the 4 Dimensions. Page 2 of this document is a great resource!

TIP: Use the "Advertising - Pulse Newsletter" tag when creating your event so we know you'd like it shared out.

Naming & Scheduling Recurring Meetings:

Did you know we have over 100 active RSOs on campus? If every one of those RSOs named their recurring meetings "Weekly Meeting" in CrimsonConnect, students would never know where to find your group's meetings.

TIP: When you create your meetings or events in CrimsonConnect it is a good idea to use your RSO's name in the event title if it would otherwise be unclear who's hosting.

TIP: Don't forget you can use the "Recurring Meeting" option when inputting the date/time information in the Event builder on CrimsonConnect to select dates of recurring meetings. This allows you to build the event once, knowing it will populate to the event list for every date it re-occurs.

Track Attendance at Your Events:

Check out this training video which talks about various ways to track attendance at your events starting at the 10minute mark (unfortunately, we do not have the ability to do mobile card-swipes for check ins) - the mobile QR Code check in option is great.
