Puppy-Sitting for Collar Scholars at DU

Puppy-sitters are trained club members who help support our puppy-raisers! They are trained to take care of our puppies for anything from a few hours to over school breaks.

Puppy-sitters can take our puppies on outings and to classes with the raiser's permission. Our puppies are permitted everywhere on DU's campus (including residence halls), except in labs.

• Start by completing our interest form!

• Attend at least one general meeting
• Pay the $15 club fee (reach out to collarscholars@du.edu by email if that creates an undue financial burden!)
• Attend puppy-sitting classes (must attend all three in the sequence to be certified)
  • Consists of two learning sessions and the assessment class
  • Must pass the practical assessment with 22/27 and the Puppy Safety Quiz with 100% (2 attempts)
• Before sitting, review the Puppy-Sitting Manual (below!) as it has all of the necessary rules and expectations for puppy sitters!
