About Us

Year 1

Worldview, Identity, and Foundations

Starting with a pre-orientation week we welcome our new cohort to DU. Activities throughout the year are  designed to develop on these foundational themes and contribute to personal development and community building.

Year 3

Civic and Community Engagement with the Global Community

Third-year ELI members will learn to engage in their local communities as well as contribute to the global community. Many ELI students will go abroad this year and cultivate communities across the globe. For students who stay on campus, programming will encourage community building within ELI as well as outside DU's campus.

Year 2

Mentorship and Leadership

Second-year ELI members will be encouraged to take on leadership positions and become change agents on campus and in the community. Students participate in workshops designed to develop leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.

Year 4

Professional Development and Transitions

In their final year, students will be supported to create post-grad plans and continue their professional development as they transition from college to the professional world. They will engage in professional networking, graduate school investigation, and job application preparation. In June, students are honored in ELI Graduation and enter our talented Alumni Network.

ELI sets its foundation with a pre-orientation retreat for the incoming cohort. First-year ELI members participate in workshops on identity, leadership, and professional development. A select group of Peer Leaders and Coordinators composed of upperclassmen lead the first-years throught the retreat and continue to provide mentorship throughout the year.
