The mission of DU African Students United (ASU) is to celebrate, educate, and promote the rich diversity of African cultures, traditions, and experiences while fostering a welcoming and inclusive community at the University of Denver. Through cultural programming, educational initiatives, community engagement, and service opportunities, ASU seeks to increase awareness of issues affecting Africa and its diasporic communities, encourage meaningful cross-cultural connections, and empower students to embrace and share their identities.

The Alexander Hamilton Society at DU engages the student body on national security issues related to foreign and defense polices. Moreover, AHS exists as a pipeline and network to careers in this field. We meet every other Wednesday for a roundtable discussion on current events.

The DU AISES chapter is called DU American Indian Science and Engineering Society will serve as the only multicultural STEM student organizationgroup focused on closing the gaps for American Indian and Indigenous student in STEM fields. This program has an annual conference and has AISES chapters located in over 189 Tribal college and mainstream university. The representation of Native Americans in the STEM fields is less than 1%. AISES will provide peer support, career guidance and opportunities for student such as internships and programming. AISES also provides academic and cultural and social support to students who are involved and interested in STEM across in Indian Country. And ways STEM can help our Native American communities. We also do a STEM programs for the Denver Indian Community doing various labs such Star Knowledge and Navajo Ruggeometry for K-12 Native American Indian Ed programs in the local area.

Divest DU is a student activist organization mobilizing to demand that the university divest all of its endowment funds from the fossil fuel industry, with the goal of creating a more ethical, sustainable, and responsible investment portfolio. Divest DU organizes educational and community-focused campaigns, events, and outreach to promote divestment from the fossil fuel industry and protect students’ futures in the midst of climate breakdown. In our work, we recognize the intersection between climate justice, racial justice, and social justice more broadly and are committed to centering equity in our work. We recognize that the impacts from climate change are not felt equally across communities, and that marginalized groups, in particular, communities of color and working-class folks, are often faced with the harshest consequences of climate change. Any and all programming hosted or promoted by Divest DU will center a lens of social justice and collective liberation. Through our grassroots activism, we aim to hold the University of Denver accountable to its vision of "a private university dedicated to the public good" through a climate justice framework. Promoting both education about climate justice and pathways of direct action is the focus of Divest DU as a student organization. If you're having a particularly busy quarter, feel free to take a few weeks off and come back to us another time.

As feminist activists at The University of Denver, the Feminist Student Alliance seeks to empower undergraduate students through discussion, awareness, and action. We first and foremost believe in intersectional feminism. We recognize the racist, classist, and heterosexist roots of feminism and vow to do better. To create a space where all womxn's realities can be spoken. We define feminism in alignment with bell hooks as the belief that "every [person] can stand in political opposition to sexist, racist, heterosexist, and classist oppression" (hooks, Feminist Theory: from margin to center). We will work to make the university a more inclusive place through the creation of safe spaces, activism, and education regarding sex and gender-based issues.
We will advocate for higher quality safety measures for female students on campus, the availability of free feminine hygiene products in every female or gender-neutral restroom on campus and at the HCC, and more female-centered historical narratives in the DU curriculum. We will work with other organizations to educate students on female-centered issues such as sexual and reproductive health, gender violence, and gender stereotypes. During club activities, we will discuss feminist theory, read feminist texts, and analyze films through a feminist lens. We will educate club members on the roles of women in history. The Feminist Student Alliance aims to do these things and more are we strive to maintain an active presence on campus.

The DU Film Production Club will be a student run organization for aspiring filmmakers. Our goal is to write, shoot, edit, and screen original short films. Members of the DUFPC will work as a community on various short film projects. While Juniors and Seniors have access to film production classes, DU underclassmen have no place to meet and create with fellow aspiring filmmakers. This club will provide all DU students with the opportunity to work on real films with peers. By cultivating necessary filmmaking skills like writing a script, editing a clip, and working with a team, DUFPC members will be well prepared for their coursework as film majors. The DUFPC has the potential to spark some serious interest in the DU film program, as the club is open to any DU student with any major.

Section 1. At least 75% of voting members and officers of this organization must be enrolled undergraduate students at the University of Denver. Graduate students may be counted in the organization's membership but may not exceed 25% of the general membership. Faculty, alumni, or other non-students are encouraged to attend but may not vote, hold office, or be counted in the organization’s membership

Section 2. DUSU has deemed that it is currently unnecessary to collect dues from members.

Section 3. Students at the University of Denver may decide to join DUSU at any time. Those who do will be titled community members and will be given equal voting privileges within all club decisions. DUSU will recruit new members by word of mouth or tabling.

Section 4. All members, in order to receive voting rights, must regularly attend clubs and contribute (to their own ability) to the club. Members are expected to operate in good faith towards our organizational purpose (Article II).

Section 5.
Subsection 1. It is expected that if a member of the organization has reportedly violated any University policy or community standard, this violation shall be reported to the appropriate University Office(s) (i.e.: Student Rights & Responsibilities, Equal Opportunity & Title IX. Etc.) and the organization will not under any circumstances conduct its own internal investigation in lieu of reporting to the appropriate University Office. If the organization Executive Board has additional concerns about a member’s ability to continue to be involved pending a resolution of a process being handled by a University Office, the organization's Executive Board and Staff
Advisor should reach out to the appropriate office and request a review regarding involvement.

Subsection 2. If DUSU executive board members feel that a member is not operating in a good faith pursuit of our organizational purpose (Article II), that member may be removed by a simple majority vote of the executive board.

Neurodiversity refers to how natural variety in brain structures and functions impacts our human experiences. There are a lot of negative stigmas surrounding disabilities, including invisible disabilities like ADHD, dyslexia, and autism. Viewing disabilities as neurodiversity highlights our differences in thinking and learning, rather than looking at them as deficits.

Disability refers to ways in which systemic barriers, negative attitudes, and social exclusion limit people with physical or mental conditions from fully participating in society in the ways they wish. This is the social model of disability. It is important to recognize that many ways that people are disabled is because of the ways in which society bars them from participation; however, some people are inherently disabled by their condition.

The Neurodivergent and Disabled Student Alliance is a cohort of students who want to make the University of Denver more accessible and help build understanding of neurodiversity and disability across campus. It is open to students with any kind of disability and nondisabled students who are our allies and peers. The goal of NDSA is to act as a resource for the University of Denver community. We hope to advocate for students with disabilities and learning differences, create informational programming for students, faculty, and staff, and build a community of students who identify as neurodiverse and/or disabled.
