RSO Registration & Re-Registration Steps

Below is a snapshot of what to expect and what you'll need if you will be the person responsible for registering a new RSO or re-registering your RSO in the Spring for the following year.

Undergrad RSOs - Don't forget about the Harm Reduction Requirement. Check out the details here.

1) RSO Registration & Re-Registration take place on CrimsonConnect

Use your first.last@du.edu email address and password to log into crimsonconnect.du.edu

RSO Re-Registration opens mid-Spring quarter for the following school year

2) Once you're logged in, navigate to the RSO List

Use the "Group" icon at the top of the page and click the blue "+All Groups" button.

This will open a new page with a full list of current Orgs and information at the top of the page about registering a new RSO. If you're registering a new org, double check that there is not already a group on campus with a similar mission.

In the Spring quarter, you'll know if your Org still needs to Re-Register because when you log into CrimsonConnect and navigate to your organization, you will see a blue "Re-Register Your Group" button. Clicking on that will take you to the Re-Registration form.

3) ANY member of your organization can Re-Register your Org in the Spring

During the Spring Re-Registration window, if the following year's leadership has been elected, they should be the ones to re-register, if they have not yet been elected, the first few weeks of Spring Quarter are a great  time to hold elections.

If your elections will not happen until after the re-registration window, current leadership may re-register your group, and will be responsible for updating the officer list when leadership transitions. Alternatively, anyone listed on the Membership roster for your RSO will have the ability to re-register your RSO.

We highly encourage your group to hold elections prior to re-registration, even if newly elected officers will not begin their term until Summer.

4) Gather your materials ahead of time.

You will need the following in order to Register or Re-register, so gather your materials before you begin the form:

  • Up to date Organization Constitution (sample constitution can be found here).
  • Up to date Membership Roster (here is the roster template optimized for uploads into CrimsonConnect - right click to open in a new WINDOW and refresh to download).
  • Required number of Officers and members specific to your RSO type (undergrad or graduate)
  • Faculty/Staff Advisor - you will provide their @du.edu email address within the form, as well as a signed RSO-Advisor Agreement form (you may need to right-click and open in a new tab or window).
